This practice exam book was absolutely critical for my personal studies in preparation for the CompTIA A+ exams. It pairs up nicely with the A+ Exam Guide written by Mike Meyers of Total Seminars and the Professor Messer series of videos on YouTube, as they all say generally the same things. There were a few questions that had the wrong answer marked on the answer key, but had the correct answer listed in the in depth review key. Question 29 from Exam D on the 220-902 practice exam is completely missing on the Kindle version. There was one question where the answer did not make sense and didn't agree with other experts in the field - in that case I went with my gut and answered with what I knew to be right on the actual test and passed.Overall, this exam guide is definitely worth the money. I ended up passing both exams with a decent score and attained my A+ certification. Thanks!!!!!
18 years after getting a BS in computer science -- all of it spent writing embedded code -- I was able to pass my A+ cert tests on the first try using this and the Mike Meyers study guide. There are 4 tests for each of the two certification tests (901 and 902), and they increase in difficulty as they go along. I found that my actual cert tests landed somewhere toward the middle, but having been wrung out by these tests, I felt much more confident that I could and would pass.
This exam, along with the other book, practice labs and exercises helped me with the A+ exams. I got a 737 on the first part and at first I failed with a 680, but after some studying I passed with a 762. This is good material to help you study for the exam and you should also buy the other book that goes with it. I was able to pass the practice exams with no issue after I read the other book. Remember, make sure you buy the other book and this one together. They will be very good to help you with both exams. Also, using practice labs is a good idea.
This book is geared towards those nearing the end of their studies. I used this book as a final refresher after earning an AAS in IT/Network Administration. Classwork for my degree included In-class, instructor taught Cisco Networking, and A+ Hardware/Software. My A+ class also came with Testout PC Pro as online homework.I passed the 220-901 and 220-902 with a score of 807 for each, first try. This book's practice tests are a very good representation of what you will see on the actual CompTIA exams. I recommend also using the companion site, as it comes with practice scenarios and the ability to take the practice exams online/mobile.
I used this as a supplement to study for the CompTIA A+ exams, along with the "ExamCram CompTIA A+ 220-901 220-902" book, also by David L. Prowse. This book is full of practice questions and the bulk of my studying revolved around the Prowse books. I passed both tests on the first try. Supplement with some on-line sources and you should be good to take the exams.
As an A+ CE Professional, I used only this book, and it caught me up with all the new requirements (and gave some good test review) for the 900 A+ Series. I passed by a wide margin. Great Book, good for professionals, and great for students looking for practice questions.
I was worried this book would be a tome, but it's a reasonable size to carry around. It arrived brand new condition.Content wise, it runs the gamut of very easy to very hard, so probably accurate for the real test. Occasionally you'll catch a joke hidden in there, haha. So fun book to study from. I'd buy it again.
This book has many glaring and baffling mistakes that make me wonder how it even made it to print. I would get a question wrong and then look it up online and it would often say something completely different to what is printed in the book. And we are talking speeds of particular standards, not matters of opinion.All in all, this book seems to have many questions unrelated to the actual exam and I was indeed very disappointed, seeing how the reviews skewed positive. A much better resource would be Professor Messer's videos on YouTube or his pop quiz material, much of which is ACTUALLY on the A+ exam.Buyer beware of this book and spend your valuable money elsewhere.
