The fourth story in the NYC Dom series is a great addition to the first three, Deliverance, Safeguard, and Conviction. The story will have several key players from the previous books but is written in a way that it can hold its own as a stand-alone. The story has a great cast of characters, real-life emotions, mystery, and suspense, danger, angst, and is definitely a page-turner that I did not want to put down. I am hoping that we will see more books in this series.Axel is a man with a past, one that haunts him with his demons. One that he hasn’t shared with even his closest of friends, and keeps close to his vest. He works two jobs, one as a mechanic, hence the name Axel, and another at Club Verge, a BDSM club in NYC.“Do we ever lose the demons? It’s a constant battle, you know. Good and evil. Right and wrong. Selfish or selfless.”Chandra was born in America, but her family is from India and hold to old-fashioned customs. They have always controlled her life, where she could go, who she could see, and then an arranged marriage with a man of their choice. But Chandra has different plans, ones that involve taking control of her own life, but the surprise is meeting Father Noah. The story will have some backstory and memories of Chandra and her involvement with Father Noah, the angst of their relationship and eventual separation. Against everything she was raised with, she will leave her family, move to New York City and pursue what she wants, which will include writing romance novels with power play, dominance and submission, and BDSM. She will find an outlet working for Marla at Books and Cups and finally take that extra step, one to help her with her writing, and enter Verge—and this will be the rest of the story.“Creativity can’t be corralled. So when the muse comes knocking, I have to answer the door.”Axel is on DM duty, the club is packed, and they are watching the weather closely. Several times they forecast blizzard conditions only to fizzle out, but not tonight. The weather turns, and Axel must evacuate the club, then he will stay there in his private room for the night. What a shock as he is doing a final sweep to discover a woman in the restroom sick—but even more surprising, she is one from seven years in his past. She is the one who still haunts him.“We’re alone at a BDSM club. It’s almost like it was fate.”Axel must keep Chandra at the club and safe, and it comes with so many mixed emotions--part of him is happy to see her, and another is furious that she is at a BDSM club. The next day weather will keep them in, and she begs him to scene with her for her writing, so he gives her what she wants on his terms. Will this be the end of them, or will fate have other plans?“You just declared ownership of me.”The story has danger and suspense, troublemakers, and eventually answers to why. Are Axel and Chandra in danger? What will it take to keep her safe? Part of him wants to lock her away, and yet another knows that he can’t do that, but he can place restrictions on her. Axel will have to wrestle demons of his past, knowing he always had dominant tendencies, that he enjoyed the control he held over a submissive. He learned that it is a give and take, just like what he has with Chandra, and her gift of submission is in her control, and that it is her power.“I wonder, right here, while the club members pursue their interests, isn’t this the battle of selfish versus selfless? Good and evil? Right and wrong? They need to trust one another, and they strip away all that holds them back when they bring and bared, vulnerable selves here to play, both dom and sub alike. When given the choice, submissives can choose to retain their own control or relinquish it to someone else. Dominants wield authority that has the power to build or destroy.”The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. It includes life and death, secrets, scandal, and plots. It is a forbidden love story of two people who must confront the past, bury it behind them and approach the future together. It is a power struggle of accepting that with two consenting adults who both want the same thing, there is nothing wrong, as long as it is safe, sane and consensual. The story will depict scenes inside a BDSM club, but between Axel and Chandra, they will scene in private, along with explicit sex scenes.

Nothing wrong with the storyline. Good girl meets newly ordained priest. Scandal that eventually divides them. Years later a chance meeting at Verge and a blizzard that cuts them off from the outside world. She's a writer he's a dom. He'll give her something to write about. They're in their own little world not knowing that someone on the outside holds a grudge for what happened as a result of their affair years ago. The book does seem like it was rushed and there are quite a few editing errors. I felt a little let down.

Jane henry did it again this book was given to me as an ARC and was thrilled to read it this is a must read Chandra gets to reconnect with her first love Noah aka axial at the most unlikely place to meet bdsm club verge I dont want to give to much away but in my option her NY DOM set along with this book which can be read as standalone book salvation has now become on of my fav books. If you love to read about doms and love stories this is a combo of both. Thank you jane

Love this book it does have a different twist then most but, love it. Axle and Chandra have gone through a lot and manage to find one another again. Between the Doms of NYC and Boston have to say my favorite, you can’t go wrong on reading them.

He was a priest for a short period of time. He realized that it wasn't his path back in the day. She was at the heart of the scandal involving their love affair. Now once more they have a chance for their HEA.

I really enjoyed this installment to the NYC Doms series. The forbidden romance of the past and the rekindling once Axel and Chandra meet up again mixed with a lot of kinky goings on make for a hot and steamy read.

Axel is a complicated man with a past that haunts his dreams. He had put so much faith into his priesthood, but then everything came crashing down around him causing him to question his beliefs and who he was. He's found a new start, and his new gig at Verge is a step in the right direction for who he wants to become. Memories from his priesthood suffocate him, and the control he craves as a dominant allows him to breathe again. The last thing he ever expected to find at the club was the one woman he regretted leaving behind.Chandra has had every piece of her life carefully planned out for her, plans that she never wanted. The control her parents had over her left her feeling as though she was drowning, struggling to breathe and gain control over her life. She only ever felt free when she was with Father Noah, but after everything fell apart he left her to pick up the remaining broken pieces of her heart alone. She has worked hard to distance herself from her parents and has created a whole new life for herself. She's finally ready to jump into the waters of writing erotic romance, but when she went to Verge to research she never expected to find Father Noah. His name may have changed, but the ache he left in her heart still remains.Holy mother of Toledo. This is how you write a second chance romance. You can feel the electric pull between Axel and Chandra from the moment they stumble upon each other at Verge. There were so many broken pieces, secrets, and demons between them that they had to over come in order for them to fit together again. They both thought they needed to distance themselves from everything in their past including each other, but when push comes to shove they needed each other to feel complete and help wade through their new selves. Axel needs Chandra to help him make sense of his demons and to help him forgive himself for who he is. Chandra needs Axel to help her find the release of submission without the overwhelming feeling of having no control. The events of their past broke them completely; it took 7 years, forgiveness, and faith in one another for them to piece themselves back together. The complexities that Jane Henry brings with her characters and BDSM is fascinating. The concept of a former priest struggling with his dominant tendencies was flipping brilliant. Axel's struggles with his bruised faith and his fear of enjoying being in control of a submissive were interesting to see play out. To see a Dom so afraid of his dominant side and reassured by his Submissive was tragically beautiful to watch play out. Chandra taught Axel that her submission is a gift and that being able to give that gift is where her power lies. She chooses who she gives control. It's a give and take relationship, she needs to give Axel her submission just as much as he needs to give her his control.“I wonder, right here, while the club members pursue their interests, isn’t this the battle of selfish versus selfless? Good and evil? Right and wrong? They need to trust one another, and they strip away all that holds them back when they bring and bared, vulnerable selves here to play, both dom and sub alike. When given the choice, submissives can choose to retain their own control or relinquish it to someone else. Dominants wield authority that has the power to build or destroy.”The plot will keep you on your toes and surround you with a mystery you will yearn to solve. The story is captivating and will have you feeling everything her characters are going through with your own beating heart. Jane's characterizations are multi-faceted and a beauty to watch unfold. She isn't afraid to show you the good and the ugly in people, that her characters are flawed and human. Jane brings a fresh take to the BDSM and isn't afraid to challenge the normal kink narrative.Axel and Chandra pulled me in from the first moment in the bathroom. A moment that felt so raw and where demons threatened to be too big for real closure. Love isn't easy, but Axel and Chandra weren't afraid to give everything they had to fight for each other. Chandra was Axel's salvation when he believed he was beyond redemption.
